Canberra

The English Electric Canberra was the first jet-powered bomber, developed by the British company English Electra for the Royal Air Force. The first Canberra came into service with the No. 101 squadron in May 1950.
It was designed to make fast altitude to avoid enemy fighters. It was withdrawn from British service in June 2006.
 

Design

The canberra has mid-mounted trapezium wings whereby the leading edge has an angle of 4 degrees and the trailing edge an angle of -14 degrees.
The circle shaped fuselage has an decreasing diameter at the forward and aft section. Inside the fuselage are 2 weapon load storage's. The Canberra can carry about 2700 kg weaponload inside and 900kg outside. The 2 engines are mounted inside the wings.
