The F117-PW-100 turbofan engine has been developed by the American company Pratt & Whitney on the basic of the commercial PW2000 engine. The F117 - which provides 40.400 pounds of thrust - was selected for the new United States Air Force 4-engine C-17 Globemaster III. |

engine is also used on the C-17's in service with the British Royal Air
Force, Royal Australian Air Force and the Canadian Armed Forces.
